Pick a Street or spot and Start cleaning!

Is there a Hyde Park street or spot that is near and dear to your heart? Perhaps it is the street you live on, a park you visit with your kids, or a route you normally walk or run. Does it bother you to see it filled with litter? If the answer is YES, be part of the solution and join the Massachusetts Litter Crew to help keep Hyde Park litter-free. Simply incorporate litter cleanups into your daily walks, whether those walks are by yourself, with your dog, or with your family and friends.

Sign up here to receive
an official Massachusetts Litter Cleanup Crew kit that includes:
  • A litter cleanup/grabber tool
  • An official Mass Litter Cleanup Crew face mask
  • An official Mass Litter Cleanup Crew safety tee-shirt
  • An official Mass Litter Cleanup Crew reusable trash bag
  • A pair of high-quality gloves
  • A Keep Massachusetts Beautiful car or refrigerator magnet
Each of these kits costs about $30, including shipping. To help offset these expenses, please consider making a donation to the Hyde Park Chapter of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful. Thank you in advance for any support you can provide—no donation is too small!

Safety Instructions

  • Safety is the first priority; always use common sense.
  • Children should be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.
  • Travel in the same direction as traffic. Clean one side of the road first and then cross over at a crosswalk or traffic light to clean the opposite side. Do not wander back and forth across roads. Stay on the sidewalk and off the road whenever possible.
  • If you see trash in the road and you want to clean it up, please do so from the sidewalk (using a grabber).  Please don't go out in the street.
  • Wear work gloves, a safety vest and/or brightly colored clothing, long pants and closed toe shoes.
  • Do not attempt to pick up broken glass or anything that appears to be a hazardous material, including hypodermic needles. Report hypodermic needles to the police or to the City using the BOS:311 app.
  • Don't over-exert yourself or attempt to move items that are especially large or heavy. Make note of the location and notify the City using the BOS:311 app.
  • Skip the cleanup when conditions are icy or temperatures are extreme.
